Jim: Here's a question for both you and JOTW. How much of the jihad chatter is caused by a still immature religion, and I don't mean that as a diss. Judism has been around for about 6000 years. The early history was very violent. Lot of blood on the pages of the old testament. Christianity has been around for 2000 years. It had a violent past, including forced conversions. Islam is only about 1300 years old. Is it just a phase they haven't moved thru yet? Rat

they instead have rabid anger that their culture has failed, that they cannot admit it, that they are unable to provide daily needs, so they must turn to foreigners for blame From my readings of national geographic, I don't see any evidence that people of islamic culture could not meet their daily needs. It is just that for many exposed to western style consumerism they could not meet their daily wants. I'm not saying that is America's fault, but if you think that muslims resent us because they are starving and we hoard the bread then you will never have a handle on the situation. TP
