It won't be like George Bush, Sr. destroying Michael Dukaksis, it will be like Reagan flattening Mondale.

Live with it, Bush is going to have four more years.

rock, I agree with you. But I expect the Republicans to wag the dog all they can before November. Catching Osama (the fact that they are now building up other terrorists to a level near Osama's makes me think they don't have the tall wacko yet), a faux terrorist attack, finding the stockpiles of WMD special ops recently hid in Iraq (though the "sarin" bomb that was supposed to save Rumsfeld's reputation hasn't had much impact apart from Fox Fictional News) and more debt to make monetary handouts to voters all are possible.

If Bush settles Iraq, so what?

You underestimate the fickleness of the American public. If Bush settles Iraq and then sells it, he and not Kerry, will essentially be crowned the candidate most capable of conducting war and protecting the country. That alone will be enough to put him over the top, albeit temporarily (which is all Bush needs).

Bush needs to shore up his base. He will lose this election because people like me will not fervently support him. Many will even stay home because to them, Bush seems like "Kerry Heavy."
