You're dreaming. We're moving toward less oil consumption in a big way right now. Under Bush, the Hybrid automobile has become the most desirable car in showrooms. Newer more efficient fuel burners are being installed for home heating. If the Dems hadn't blocked ANWAR drilling, we'd have been able to cut our ME oil dependence in half by 2008.

The Big Oil excuse is old. Time for action, not excuses. Kerry has done nothing on this. Why do you think he'll suddenly start?

"All I can say, is Kerry isn't bound by the oil cabal that Bush is in league with.

Assuming the premise that Bush has a conflict of interest you may be right. I imagine Kerry could pick up the reigns and with the support of the European politicians who have burned bridges with Bush, he might be able to help lead this operation to a positive resolution.

My concern is that he (or his followers) will blow that option during the presidential campaign.

btw... I am not convinced of the conflict of interest but it has plausibility.
