You were not in the all volunteer military. I was fortunate to see what Reagan did with the military when he was elected because the 1970's left the military is sad shape. Dazed and confused and without direction.

So I am sorry you and Canyon Dweller have your judgement tarnished by a poor experience in the military.

I had a good time in 6 years, serving 5 years at sea. I visited 25 countries and learned skills that have made me wealthy.

We wont invade Iran for oil, but their support of terrorism will be checked. Their oil assets are in deep decline and they are not as vital as SA and Iraq.

This is WWIII, the bloodshed is just starting. If the Mideast suffers the same bloodshed we did with our civil war the death count will quite astonishing. I think we had 500,000 deaths with a population of 15 million.

Now I dont know what will happen, but I think there are way too many extremists in Islam and moderates who will let themselves be killed by them before they stand up. Also with WMD floating around who knows.

But the world will do whatever is necessary to keep the Persian Gulf exporting nations in a condition to export oil. If there are interruptions we will see the consumer nations mobilized.
