On a milder scale you can say the same about paying taxes. How then should a country provide a military force for its defense ?

I don't think a person can consider himself a full citizen if he/she did not share the risk of defending his country.

This is such an obvious point, I'm amazed there is disagreement on the basic premise. Who should defend the country, if not its citizens ? Mercenaries ?

And how should that burden be distributed ? Just because there is cheating by the wealthy classes, doesn't mean you scrap the system of equal risk and sacrifice. Instead, we should reduce the cheating.

The problem with the invasion of Iraq, is not only that people are dying. It is that people are dying to support a policy of lies. And in my opinion, as well as many others, not even for the interest of the US, but to rearrange the middle east for the benefit of Israel, regardless of the cost to the US.
