I'd like to hear what those things were.

On the day of 9-11.. Here your criticism is based entirely on symbolic actions. There's nothing he could have done on that day which would have made a difference.

..rely on Afghanistani nationals to do some fighting .. To do otherwise would have delayed action many months. Months in which the Northern Alliance would have likely been finished off. Note that the 911 attack didn't go forward till the charismatic leader of the Northern Alliance had been assassinated. They thought they'd have time to finish the NA off. They didn't anticipate the effect of SF troops backed by American air power working with the remaining NA forces. Bush did the absolute right thing here.
