Not to get too involved in this little tussle, but I think both of you are right..

I have incredible respect for women and what they endure.

And I seriously hope as few people as possible need, or receive, a near-death experience ephipany that makes them relish and appreciate the life they have been given.

And I certainly hope as many women as possible are able to experience the act of giving life and nurturing it into something that adds to our total humanity and existence.

As men, it's something that we'll forever be relegated to the role of an outsider looking in.

Absolut vodka cut with Gerolsteiner mineral water on the rocks, flavored with real Key lime juice. How much? Whatever two inches is on the bottle. Started around 10:00 p.m. my time, that's almost four hours. If that matters to you, I have no reason not to reply.

But back to what I posted. Of course, you can't bear children, nor birth them, nor nurse them, so you'll never know what that particular sacrifice entails.

At the WWII memorial, there are a number of bronze plaques. Some show men in combat. Some show men and women working behind the lines. Some show people working in factories, or on farms. There are many ways of giving. Some give all their lives as teachers, or as ministers, or as nurses, or as cops, or as firefighters, or as oncologists.

There are a lot of men who post on SI who recognize that, and some who don't. My impression is that the ones who don't are sort of weak egos, who need to be propped up, and get special props by beating others down.
