Obviously, you haven't met many experienced real estate agents--nor a single one of my former clients, who were not quite the dummies you assume such people to be.

I agree the real estate industry has its fair share of doofus agents, but the reality is....these agents don't last long in the business. As for this type being in the "majority" (your word)....what a load of rubbish, to borrow your words again.

Agents such as you describe will be dead broke and so discouraged at their lack of success that they'll be gone within 6 months to a year. If you can't be smart enough to shop around for an experienced agent who knows the market and has a proven record of getting things done efficiently for satisfied clients, then perhaps the problem is yours?
