I think conservative punditry is much more appropriately posted on LindyBill's thread. where "fairandbalanced" commentary rules. Peter's alleged divergence from true believer dogma is a little obscure to the outside observer. I will make a small exception for this piece, though. Peters writes:

That sorcerer's apprentice, the American media, harbors diverse views, yet a reflexively liberal, anti-military and anti-Bush bias remains dominant. One feels that those on the left (who pretend that the Kurds don't even exist) would be delighted to sacrifice the lives of millions of men, women and children to defeat George W. Bush. (Of course, our domestic left has long since abandoned the cause of universal human rights, highlighting oppression only when it can be blamed on Washington.)

Ahem. I somewhat regret reading that far, but I would direct you and Peters to read the somewhat more straightforward account of media bias described in nytimes.com , previously posted in #reply-20185928 .

<<both American political parties have engaged in rhetoric about Iraq as morally vicious as it is intellectually vacuous>>

A truism from Mr.Peters, after which (with unintended irony) he immediately provides a perfect example, in his own writing:

<<One feels that those on the left (snip) would be delighted to sacrifice the lives of millions of men, women and children to defeat George W. Bush.>>

After which, with some temerity, he suggests that what others need to do is "get a grip".

Indeed.
