When a luxury tax was imposed on yachts, its only effect was to put several boat manufacturers and all their employees out of work. The tax was rescinded, but only after the industry got creamed.

Of course, you don't care whether they kill the CA housing industry, do you? You have your home.

Gee American Squirrelnut I though CA real estate taxes were linked to price paid. In other words if you buy a 2 million dollar house, you most likely will be able to afford the property tax.

We all know you really are just a guest of the state though... lOL!
