Today's rightwing is a threat to our democracy. It is a hugely funded and orchestrated indoctrination machine, so big and well funded that it rivals the former Soviet and Nazi propaganda machines. Study it and you see how they have a very well organized echo chamber which every day repeats the same daily lies, spin or deflection. Even while Bush was riding high they were out spinning total lies to discredit the weak opposition and make Bush look like Superman. That dance on the aircraft carrier was a typical example. A flipside example was them calling triple amputee war hero Max Cleland an appeaser of terrorism. In fact when Bush was at 85% populatity the rightwing was busy calling anti-war protesters "evil" and "communists", that sort of thing, when actually many war-protesters are devout and highly moral religious people. Something happened when Bush-Cheney cheated then succeeded to take over the country. The lesson was cheaters and liars win and that was a very dangerous lesson. After that we just left democracy behind. we forgot who we were as a nation. Dissent all of a sudden started becoming almost illegal. Corruoption became almost legal. When that happened I realized that some sort of extremist ploygplot corporate machine was trying to take over led by the Texas energy firms who screwed California, funded by the polluters, Texans and other corporate groups, with foot soldiers by the extreme right religious wackos. People, we need to take our country back from the Bushie extremists. Even the GOP will be much better off as a result.
