Re: How about the Prez meeting with the Pope? Looked a little awkward. Also, shows how powerful religion is in the U.S. for the Prez to take time to meet with the Pope... ...especially when over 30% of Americans are Catholic. Moreover, Bush is keen on securing the Hispanic vote, the Cuban vote and Texas (where both gubernorial candidates were of Mexican extraction...). But then, wasn't it a pity that all of Bush's PR hoopla in Normandy, commemorating D-Day, etc. got steamrolled by Ronald Reagan's decease? I've heard that US media somehow sidelined Bush's European tour and focused instead on the life of Ronald Reagan...
