Z,
I can understand your point and agree somewhat.
But the previous Soviet socialist system failed. The socialist programs we have now need to be thrown out. Everyone, including the ones relying on the system would be better off.

It's not a black and white issue, but when you have people handling the gray areas, you end up with the system we have today.

Kinda like our income tax system. The harder people work and invest in themselves, they are penalized with a higher rate.

You want silliness, look at who was whining when Bush cut income taxes. The people who didn't pay income taxes!

If your government takes care of EVERYONE from cradle to grave, then WHO is going to pay for it?

Not every person can be taken care of from cradle to grave... what kind of standard of living does welfare get you?

Even under the most quasi-socialist visions any politician in this country has, there's always the opportunity for someone who works harder to get more and better services than people who do not.

Just because there's a floor (safety net) does not mean that people with a good work ethic cannot thrive.

Z, give it up.

The guy doesn't mind his tax dollars spent on slaughtering 'the enemy' but not one dollar for his fellow man. But don't forget, stevo thinks of himself as a good Christian! Its the hypocrisy of the red states.
