When the U.S. practiced 100% capitalism, from the gilded era to the great wall street crash of '29 it failed too. It's obvious that the sweet spot is somewhere in the middle.

Steve, there are a couple of MAJOR differences between the Soviets and what we should be doing -- first off, the Soviet Union was a corrupt dictatorship (no comments from the peanut gallery about the Bush administration!). Second, the Soviet Union did not provide a means for those who worked harder to do better than those who did not, and that's key.

I don't mind the rich being very rich, I just don't like to see anyone poor.
