You are probably misunderstanding where and why you ran into previous opposition to your plan. It is all about protecting people against discrimination. Once a society initiates such a plan (in order firstly to protect racial groups, women, and sexual orientation from historical injustice) it needs to conduct a policy which is consistent and lawful. There are always ways around such matters but not in public argument. You cannot argue for discrimination. Once you open that door the whole house of cards falls down. If your religion or your sexual fears impede your ability to treat people equally without throwing sex or race into the mix....just hire an assistant or something. Don't ask the rest of us for a pass. Not a chance. Too many centuries of cheating and oppression and disparate treatment between distinct groups. You drive a bus, you drive every gender and colour. You cut out lungs, you do it for anyone you are trained to do it for. You relax muscles or improve blood flow you do it for asians, whites, blacks, or women. When we refine the laws of discrimination we will let you know. But if you are a professional and are unable to behave like a professional when you are working on a body for any health procedure then you ought to admit to it and have your license and status re-assessed. That is only fair.
