We can only lower defense spending after we have a president who believes in peace, not starting wars for oil-grabs and political gain. This will take awhile. Iraq alone will require massive defense spending for many years to come thanks to GW.

What Kerry can and will do is make the military smarter, more modern and more focused on REAL threats.
