There are racists everywhere. I would call the Dem leaders who promise AAs the sun, moon, and stars yet deliver nothing racist. Subtly so, but still racist.

I definitely would not say there are racists everywhere. You are much bleaker about the human condition than I am. As for labeling attempts to correct racial inequalities, labeling them as racist, that's definitely not persuasive.

I have not yet seen any black figure become prominent in Kerry's campaign.

Definite problem. Pointed out by many Dems.

The issues are not at heart racial, but economic.

I see them as both, and intertwined. No single simple answers.
