I definitely would not say there are racists everywhere.

I suppose it's a definitional problem. What exactly is racism?

The guy wearing sheets and burning crosses is definitely one. So is the guy who discourages a certain race from buying from at his business.

Go lower down the scale of egregious behavior and things get a bit grayer.

Am I racist because I belong to a club that doesn't have any black members in it, though none have applied? is the fact that I stand no chance of ever becoming a member of a black organization indicative of racism?

Is the local city government that fixes the streets in black neighborhoods so that they are always free of potholes though my neighborhood's streets are like the surface of the moon racist?

There are a lot of things in everyday life that can be interpreted racially. The question is, are they indicative of racism?

I don't know.

I'd like to think I'm color blind but I sometimes wonder.

As for labeling attempts to correct racial inequalities, labeling them as racist, that's definitely not persuasive.

Are you not discomfited by our continued use of race as a proxy for disadvantaged in designing assistance programs? There are implications to that and they at least border on the racist, no?

Dem leaders who promise AAs...

Reality vs. liberal theology

First AA Supreme Court Justice - Clarence Thomas
First AA Secretary of State - Colin Powell
First AA and first female National Security Advisor - Condi Rice.

Clinton had eight years and all I can recall is Ron Brown and Jocelyn Elders.
Even his supreme court nominations were both non-Hispanic whites.
