and believe it or not there are others

our government is at present federally funding $250 million a year for research on the 60 existing embryonic stem cell lines - there are other forms of stem cell research, umbilical cord, placenta, adult and animal stem cells

that is only federal funding - there is continual private scientific research done worldwide

the extreme right wanted NO federal funding on embryonic stem cell - the left wanted no restrictions on it - rather than kill it entirely, Bush agreed [wisely I thought] to fund the already existing lines, with no new lines coming under the funding

it's called compromise AS
