DR,

re: Of course we spend more than the rest of the world. We're the lone remaining superpower. We have the most to lose.

LOL.

re: This graph is of OUTLAYS. Yes, OUTLAYS were higher during the Vietnam War. Further, outlays during the Carter years reflected the HIGHEST INFLATION SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION. If you inflation-adjusted the Carter years the outlays would have been greatly diminished.

Just admit the truth, nobody, Rep or Dem, "gutted" the military. Another piece of far right urban legend false dogma that's simply not true.

John

Gut"? Just how much is enough? US military spending vs. the rest of the world:

Of course we spend more than the rest of the world. We're the lone remaining superpower. We have the most to lose.

Now I understand why you voted for Bush.

Your statement above makes about as much sense as owning a fur coat in Florida. We are the lone superpower.....no one who could possibly come near us in terms of military might......but yet you want us to continue to spend on defense at a high rate.

I bet you wear a fur coat whenever you visit Miami. And you complain about the logic of liberals........more projection!
