I have always given Gorbachev much credit in this. Reagan once was asked about whether Perestroika moved the USSR out of the evil empire rhetoric and Reagan said yes. I think history will show that there were two great men on the world stage at the same time and one was a communist. Once you remove the totalitarianism, a communist just may become a social democrat and i think thats more or less what happened to Gorby. Hope one day to see that in china when the Communist party just becomes one of the surviving parties in a multi party system. When it does, it too will be social democrat. Mike

get a pop from the Reagan stuff ...Don't think so John.

1) The "Bush people" don't own the airways.

2) Don't believe you are watching FOX much.

3) Don't believe anyone from the "Republican" side had any sniping to do about press/or TV wall to wall coverage for either JFK's pre-funeral, funeral, and aftermath, NOR from LBJ's pre-funeral, funeral, and aftermath.

The Reagan pre-funeral, funeral, and aftermath shouldn't be a partisian issue. The Left will try to make it one.
