Alighieri, RE: "Republicans instead exploded the size of government. Since 1980, government expenditures have increased fourfold. Sixty percent of this government growth occurred under "conservatives" Reagan and Bushes, Jr. and Sr."

Wow, 4X's increase in spending

RE: "With government under the control of a "conservative" for 16 of the last 24 years, shouldn't we have a smaller government by now? We certainly would if Republicans really believed in smaller government."

Maybe the Republican Party should align its platform promises to what it actually does: "we promise to increase spending and grow the deficit."

The Real Legacy of Ronald Reagan

Even though they are in mourning, I posted your article onto the GW Bush thread. I posted it to a Bush poster whom I refer to as Ms. Patriot. On her own, without any prodding from her gov't, she has made a list of French products, including but not limited to French fries, bic pens, Stouffer's etc that she and her friends are boycotting.

Her boycott brought tears.......of merde......to my eyes.

Je suis un homme francais!

Vive Le France!
