The Taleban was ruling Afghanistan and had endorsed and given harbor to Al-Quaida. Saddam's regime was ruling Iraq, had engaged in mass genocidal terrorism, had endorsed and paid the terrorists in Palestine, had declared on more than one occassion its intent to destroy America, had a history of researching, developing, and using weapons of mass destruction, had demonstrated its willingness and ability to deploy weapons of mass destruction to advance its political goals, was playing cat and mouse with the UN inspections and was only held at bay temporarily by international santion and patrol which was becoming increasingly corrupt and leaky."Meanwhile, the country that had 15 of the highjackers and supports anti-U.S. terrorism, Saudi Arabia, does not get attacked, because they're our "friends" in the dirty oil trade." I notice that you did not say the country of Saudi Arabia had terrorist ties only that it had 15 terrorists. Actually it didn't have them, they were blown up. However, there are probably 100 wannabees living in Saudi for every 1 that died on 911. The country of Saudi Arabia does not have ties with these people except that they happen to be born in Saudi and are a product of the culture. The Saudi Arabian government arrests them when they are caught. The Saudi Arabian government is not an enemy to the US it is a freindly nation as you yourself indicated. For some reason you seem to hate that idea ... probably has something to do with wanting to harm Bush but who knows, hate is its own logic. Although there are people in Saudi Arabia who support anti-US terrorism, the Saudi Arabian government does not. Saudi Arabia is not attacked by the US government because the US government has no just cause to attack them. The anti-US attitudes among some of the sub-cultures is handled internally and via diplomatic means. "...does not get attacked, because they're our "friends" in the dirty oil trade." It is a pretty amazing thing that such dispirate and diverse cultures could put aside their differences to engage in mutually beneficial trade activities. It is also quite obvious that the Saudi culture has benefitted tremendously by becoming affluent in Western society, now that extended family members have homes in just about every western city. Less obvious, or talked about is how much we have benefitted culturally. It should be obvious that we benefit from the commerce. Dirty oil trade? Well no doubt there are crooks everywhere but I wouldn't limit it to oil trade. However, that has nothing to do with having made no decision to attack Saudi Arabia. Your justification that 15 terrorists came from there is, uh ... biting my tongue.
