ROFLMAO!!! After 1.3 billion Chinese are gasified, they go NOWHERE.

THEY know it, and will thus tow the line. What's confusing to them is that there are idiots like YOU who DON'T know it.

That is why they trust the REAL America, and DESPISE you left wing sewer rats, as does everyone else...

I agree, Taiwan would probably fall to China pretty easily, unless China is just a big paper tiger. I'm sure they'd put up a fight, but against 1.2 Billion mainland Chinese, good luck. We do have a pact with Taiwan to defend them through SEATO (like NATO for Asia). So, it could get interesting. I'm just putting this out there, so people aren't surprised if they wake up one morning and Taiwan has been overrun by the Chinese. China has acheived two unification goals, regaining control of Hong Kong and regaining some of the semi-autonomous western provinces. The third and final goal, the jewel in their reunification crown is to take Taiwan back. It has been a dream of China's for decades, and they've been threatening to do so in recent years. It might just happen, the year I heard they were aiming for was 2005, but I guess the talk is now 2006. The world community probably won't care much either, Taiwan isn't very strategic.

China probably could attack the western U.S., but the U.S. would retaliate with fierce force, and we'd see them coming with all the modern technology. Not likely, with all our trade ties, what would they have to gain? A colony 6,000 miles away that has a completely different culture and language?

Historically, the Chinese have NEVER been interested in moving beyond their borders. IMHO we should make close relations with China now as like it or not they will be the next world superpower.
As to USA invasion, I do not believe that will EVER happen so long as we continue to have the right for our citizens to bear arms. We might be susceptible to loss from nuclear attack, but IMHO never from invasion. jdn
