Anyway on health care .. I still favour public as a lesser of two evils but I'm discouraged... FWIW I've had a good look at it from the inside...

Another important health care reform is to make premiums
deductible only to individuals, not employers, so people have a personal interest in the cost of their care, affecting how quickly and extensively they demand it. The government could lessen the existing system's regulatory and tax morass by substituting that, plus a set of requirements/incentives for insurers that would group individuals by type for "group health" premium purposes.

There are many flavors of far more market-oriented solutions out there than the mess we have now. Steve Forbes was a good exponent of them years ago, but of course he's rich and was roundly dismissed on that basis by the media and poll sheep.
