I think you're confusing the actual ceremonies with the incessant 24/7 coverage on the networks, MSNBC, Fox, et al.
Sounds to me like your primary beef is with the press.


Yeah...you're spot on Alan. I have to turn off the TV when ever they go focal on any particular subject. I turned it off when they went nutty on Michael Jackson, the Peterson case, and OJ.

We all remember the endless reporting on Elizabeth Smart and Chandra Levy. Thought these stories would never end...in fact it took 9-11 to knock the story of Chandra Levy off the news.

After this weekend we will probably not hear about Reagan for quite sometime.

You are correct...........it's the 24/7 coverage that is getting to be too much.

I do think it's unhealthy for any family to have to endure a full week of public mourning.

My five year old Granddaughter started to cry last night and is now doubly worried that her parents might die too. All the coverage has had an effect on her.I am sure that other children feel the same way. They cant help but see some of the coverage as it's on almost every channel constantly.
