So lorne, there is a person chasing another person with a gun in his hand. You saw the fleeing person run in one direction and hide. The man with the gun comes upto you and wants to know from you where that person is hiding. What would you say? Now lorne, remember before you answer, there were many Jews who were saved this way during WWII. So what we learn from here is that lying to prevent an evil is OK. That is why I do not understand the misplaced obsession of some with regard to lying.
