If Ghadaffi is wating for Kerry to be elected, that tells me that he thinks Kerry is weak.

Since you brought up Kerry's experience in VN, it seems he came away from that experience with a strong bias against ever using the military again. He made statements saying thing like the US should never send troops overseas without the UN approval and the CIA should be dismantled. He spent the next 3 decades opposing every weapons system in sight and opposing every use of American forces beyond our borders ... until the second Iraq war - that was the first use of force he had supported since the end of the VN war.

He also knows that Kerry quit fighting ASAP and people continue today to question the validity of his "wounds"
so that he could leave the war...fast. Many others stayed with their units and did not put in for medals for scratches.

Gadaffi knows very well that power speaks through the barrel of a gun. And he also knows that it was Kerry who picked up the gun and went to war in Vietnam, not Bush. He also know that Kerry is capable of leading a effective war strategy from his personal experience in Vietnam and that Bush has no such experience and hence has to rely on crooks and scoundrels such as Wolfowitz, Cheney and Rumsfeld gang.
