I don't ordinarily correct the spelling and grammar of other posters, but since you've taken on the mantle of thread grammarian and proofreader, I thought I'd point out the following:

So Clinton sewed the seas with time bombs...even if Al Gore became president. That's an interesting notion that you have absolutely zero proof of. This again reiterates the proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are incapable of rational and critical thinking.

That would be "sowed the seas," not "sewed the seas."

To sow is "to strew or cover with something; spread thickly."

To "sew" is "to make, repair, or fasten by stitching, as with a needle and thread or a sewing machine: sew a dress; sew on a button."

Just thought I'd clear that up.

LOL, Orky. My political sense and savvy say you don't have much.

Four years passed. If you think that politics is static, and that the electorate doesn't change it's mind from time to time, then you have forgotten the lesson of what "read my lips" did to the last Bush presidency.

It's clear that the lesson of "read my lips" was totally lost on you.

Tell us a little about your education and credentials that would lead us to rely on your political analysis. So far, I'm not impressed, but I'm open-minded.

Orky, claiming that politics "isn't static" and that the electorate "changes its mind from time to time" is no answer as to why, if more than half the country is so in love with Gore (who you say won the last election and should be president today), he isn't the democrat nominee.

Shouldn't the dem's be supporting Gore's "re-election"? If Gore was worth fighting for all the way to the Supreme Court and tearing the country apart for, why did you guys drop him like a one night stand?

I've seen dem strategists and operatives on t.v. recently tacitly admitting that Gore is a nut case with his extremist rants. It only took 3-1/2 years for them to admit it. When are the democrats going to admit that Kerry, like their last nominee, is a nut case?

Btw, if more than half the country is so in love with Gore, why isn't he the democrat nominee this time?

An observation that politics is (not) static
and that the electorate changes its mind is too facile
an explanation for why is Gore is neither the candidate
nor a real power within the Democratic party.

His situation is quite unique, given the assertions
made, to this very date, that he was the rightfully
elected President, that he was "cheated out" of the
Presidency, that he won the popular vote, etc. etc. etc.

Had the outcome of the prior election not been so hotly contested, and bemoaned by Gore supporters
to this very date, you might have a point.

However, given that perspective, it is really curious
that Gore did not emerge this time around.

What do you think the real reason is?
Fickleness on the part of voters doesn't cut it, imho.

<edit: just saw this post:

Message 20223576

Does this mean you think the reason is that he moved
to the left from the center?

Doesn't that still make him to the right of Kerry?<g>)
