Have the Quebec separtists thought about how they will resist the cultural and economic influence of the US without having the leverage of all of Canada plus the large number of additional Francophones ?

Hello Taikun, thank you for the summary on CAD and CanRoy.

The phrase "nowhere to run and nowhere to hide" comes to mind.

I will hold tight on both positions.

On interest rate, I think Greensputin and company is so bluffing. OTOH, 18% treasury yield would come in quite handy as far as I am concerned, the sooner the better ;0)

On colonization, I noticed that the Chinese government just reached agreement with Mugabe of Zimbabwe to settle some Chinese on Zimbabwe farm land confiscated from white farmers. This is continuing the script of similar settlements in Laos, Kazakstan, Cuba, Burma, and Russia. If I were to guess, a pattern is emerging.

In the mean time, I have been busy with my globalization business ... and so very exciting because anything can happen :0)

Chugs, Jay

Taikun,
If the Liberals form a minority government with the Bloc it will be their death knell for a decade at least...

Montreal wants to stay in Canada even that is tenuous... All my nieces and nephews are SO bilingual you cannot tell if they are English or French..... Even culturally ... it's a blur..

They are French, what do you expect Unfortunately you oversimplify... Remember who won the French and Indian war...

This is, incidentally, a convenient way for the CanRoys to shed non-resident (largely US) investors, ;o) ;o) I'm a net buyer on dips now.... but piecemeal... And I'm Canadian... I speculated on this exact issue way back.. when I sold a LOT but too soon...

regards
Kastel
