btw, do you remember that Bob Dole quit the Senate during his run precisely so that his constituents would not be cheated by his absence? Yes I am aware of that and I consider that as a ploy to get votes. Besides, as far as Kerry is concerned, sometimes it is not worth being present for votes which are nowhere near as close. He did fly down for one close vote. Why waste time and money and give priority to something where Kerry's vote is sure to either push the issue through or fail anyway.
