re: I was trying to be a little facetious by mentioning teachers. Toung-in-cheek stuff doesn't always come across the way you intend it in a post And I read your comment in the literal. And popped off. Your literal reading of School's open till 6 may be correct. I read it as, a program named school's open till 6 Neither of us(I believe)heard the remarks and both may be taking them out of context. Sorry to climb down your throat. The program is probably doomed to failure before it sees the light of day.

Mark .. to interject a thought into the ongoing discussion of >>>>> Teachers are currently the only trained staff employed by school districts to handle children. here in Texas, there are already "some" programs similar to this in effect, and, again, in Texas, there is a classification of employee in the schools called an "teacher aide" now these individuals are marvelous folks in my estimation, for they work for pitiful wages *(locally beginning salary is in the $7k for 182 classroom days) they MUST be highly motivated, dedicated, and GREAT people to work for such a paltry sum ... the ones I know simply LOVE kids ..... I'm in awe of them myself .. but, as has been discussed, this program as posted will not make it through the channels not to do anything here but to point out there are other "trained staff to handle children" .....
