Why do people support a candidate?

It all depends on their experience and perspective.

My perspective is that hard work pays off - and lack of such should not.

My perspective is that people trying to provide the materials and energy that the country needs are portrayed as evil by the left.

My perspective is that the left does not give a crap about solutions - only issues.

My perspective is that less government is better than more government.

My perspective is that neither party has the guts to speak the cold hard truth about issues - eg energy, illegal immigration, social security etc.

My perspective is that the left can say anything stupid they want and get favorable treatment from the media.

My cheer is that despite the ability of the left to lie without media criticism - the people elect representatives of the right.

My perspective is that while both sides are imperfect - the left is looney and supports non producers while the right supports producers!

The people are smarter than most give them credit!

Mephisto, I was just about to post to you the name of this forum, when I discovered you already found it.

Tonto is away for the wkend. S/he? was one of the Kerry forum posters until chinu used the all-powerful moderator button. I don't know who 1st conceived moderated forums at SI, but they often create "control freak" problems.

Have you participated in any equine acrobatics recently?

I asked several people questions similar to that one over the weekend, and their facial response was the same each time.... The two extremes accomplish little, the election depends upon the independents and moderates, and no one is telling a compelling story. They do not believe it themselves, they are following the party lines and we see that here. Why are people afraid to admit to faults in their own party and in their candidate that they support? Why do voters have such a hard time being completely honest?
