Clinton says "I did it because I could." Isn't that a statement about everything. Nary a care about her, but it was all about him. Narcissist comes to mind again.

I was struck the same way by that statement. I argued our read of it to a friend over lunch the other day who wasn't buying it at all. He is adamant that Clinton is lying in his explanation about why he did it, that the real reason was simply that he wanted the sex. I don't see why the two explanations are necessarily in conflict but he was insistent.

It's amazing how compelling this is after all this time.
