Mike;
I was there during D-Day anniversary and believe me they remember and they are very appreciative of the American help. However, we are perceived as the aggressor in Iraq, and I suppose rightly so. The British support for the Iraq mess has fallen off much faster than here. The problem with Iraq is the end game - when will America ever be able to completely leave? If we never completely leave, Americans will always be targets. If Americans remain targets (you do understand that they hate do you not?) then at some point someone may screw up and the mess in Iraq could explode throughout he region. Gee, isn't that what we are seeing in Saudi Arabia recently? We took the benevolence of the entire world and in the blink of an eye, turned it into a hatred that is increasing global. What kind of wisdom is that?
