I think the security requirements imposed on this convention will mean that future conventions are either downsized radically or moved to locations out in the country that can be more easily secured.

They are shutting down the main north-south highway through Boston for a week. otoh, they have got everone so terrified about the resulting traffic jams that half of Boston plans to be on vacation that week. I bet that traffic will be fine.
