Ten,

Did I hear somewhere that, worldwide, the lowest percentage of favorable impression of Americans is in South Korea? Like, less than 5% or something. Could that be accurate or did I mis-hear it?

John

Ted, I thought the S. Koreans have not made it to Iraq yet. I must be wrong.......when did they arrive?

They haven't.

What do you think Roh is up to?

The conventional wisdom in Korea is that Roh's hand is being forced by Bush. Despite the anti-Americanism and the anti-Bush sentiment over there, the fact is that the vast majority of Koreans still want America to stay. Remember our plans to withdraw 1/3 of American troops from Korea? Many are very nervous about that. Guess they're finally learning about the price of ingratitude.

Is it ingratitude, or that familiarity breeds contempt? I wonder what is going on......and I am not blaming this one on Bush. The more a people gets to know us, the more they seem to dislike us. I'm not one for popularity but I sure do find it disturbing when the hate is so universal.
