I wonder if the economics of self-publication haven't changed a lot in recent years, especially if one isn't expecting large volume. CDs cost almost nothing to burn one by one and, if that becomes burdensome, there are copying services oriented toward software houses and self-publishing music types that can dup off hundreds for very little over cost and put fancy labels on them and such.

Likewise, color lasers don't equal what the best inkjets do, but the cost per page is way lower and many will do things like duplexing which inkjets won't. And it may be that the character of the color from a laser would actually be a plus for some projects like Michal's and certainly would be good for graphics and drawings.

There are even some relatively inexpensive rigs for perfect binding or that too could be done by a service outfit.
