Here in Los Angeles and Southern California the INS and Border Patrol are reeking fear among the Hispanic community by raiding supermarkets, schools, trolling the STREETS, and asking basically only Hispanics for ID and cards....
it's a sweep aimed only at Hispanics and the entire community is railing up

Where are the Libertarians at this dire moment in our history? For all the years I've heard those strident "defenders of personal liberty" go on and on about the government interferring with their rights, they are amazingly quiet about the police state that is emerging over the past 3 years. With things like the PATRIOT Act that allows searches without warrants and holding suspects without due process or formal charges. And, now this latest item you just posted about police being allowed to demand ID without cause. Where did you hear that? We're quickly sliding down that slippery slope
towards a police state.

I still hear "Libertarians" talking about voting for George W. this fall, because he's the less of two evils?!? The lesser of what two evils? Some of these people really don't have a clue. If you're concerned about personal liberty and the future of civil liberties in this country, another 4 years of Bush is certainly not leading us down that road. If the Libertarians can't stomach the socialism put forth by the Dems, they're better off voting for their own party or just staying home. Voting Republican is becoming akin to voting for facism, and that's suppossedly a philosophy that is dimetrically opposed to libertarianism.
