If the likes of Michael Moore represent "the progressives", the fault certainly isn't because they follow Socialism, but because people like Moore substitute personal hatred of someone (Bush in this instance) for rational political analysis.

The interesting thing about this point is that's precisely what a large contingency on the right did with Clinton. Personal hatred took the place of serious analysis. At some level, there is much to fear for our politics if this kind of hatred replaces serious disagreement.
