It's far more important just how strongly a given newspaper/journalist adheres to journalistic professional ethics, of which one part of the code has to be to get the story right, to argue the case based on the best evidence and include a good rendition of the opponents' arguments in your own.

You're right. Using your own criteria, there are many "journalists", including Milbank, who fail miserably. I think blogs often do a better job of covering a story because the best ones offer a true debate. You can also learn a lot more about "the other side" than newspaper stories include. Having an agenda is not a bad thing; pretending you don't is.

Also, Fox is major, but Washington Times? Don't think so. As for Fox, it's more "balanced" than "fair", perhaps, but I seldom watch it.
