What does it say about democracy especially US style when the aspiring Presidential Candidate is just another billionaire (by marriage)?

story.news.yahoo.com

The way things have evolved, with big business and big money influencing and buying political favours, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I am not a radical left wing nut. Sadly, maybe there simply is no practical better way. The US, as with all other things, leads the world by a Texas mile, even in politics. With money (personal or backing) everything is possible, but if you have no money and no financial backing, you can't even get up to the plate.

Remember Bloomberg? He outspent his rivals considerably, and won the mayoralty. Being a billionaire stood him in good stead.

Conclusion: If you haven't got money, you better be well connected with those who do.

Searle, <video conversation with Chalmers Johnson> 58 minutes...and it restarts if you hit pause! maybe later. he did get me interested in the first few minutes with his reference to 'the search for new enemies' after the collapse of the FSU. Enemies - a basis human need? My enemy, you complete me.
