Kerry is committed to uniting the maximum amount of Americans and reaching out to Republicans. He will have no problem doing this. Some of his best friends are Republicans including his wife and all her associates. At the fundraisers of his I went to (6 of them) I met a lot of Republicans there becuse they just like John.

Kerry may be liberal on a few issues but not to worry, he knows how to govern from the middle and unite America as much as anyone can. If McCain would accept he'd be his running mate. That says a lot right there. They are very close friends who have worked together on several major bills. Both of which the rightwing vilified them for, Both os which were very good for america.

The rightwing is just plain wrong these days. TRhey have lied too many times, gotten caught and have lost their authority. They must go. The 25% rightwing extremists need to take a backseat now and learn something while the 75% of honest Americans have a chance to straighten things out.

Ten,

re: It's taken on a new form with new names, like "progressive" or "moderate," but it's the same old "divide-n-conquer" strategy that Clinton perfected. Namely, just promise each voter group what they are demanding, and paint the other side as "extremist."

Sounds like the incumbent to me.

John

Namely, just promise each voter group what they are demanding,....

What an excellent description of shrub!

and paint the other side as "extremist."

That's the oldest trick in the book...accuse the other side of your principal tactic. You gotta be kidding.

Al

You're right about that. It's taken on a new form with new names, like "progressive" or "moderate," but it's the same old "divide-n-conquer" strategy that Clinton perfected. Namely, just promise each voter group what they are demanding, and paint the other side as "extremist."

And what is Bush doing? He promises the Latinos one thing; the Cubanos something else, the religious right still something else. Its called politics!
