<The amazing thing is that I know a lot of very intelligent people who still support him. They want their taxes lowered, regardless of the basic destruction of the dollar.>

There is nothing amazing about that. Most people are inherently selfish. There are very few genuine liberals left. I say this with much dismay because I am a liberal and Proud of it.

Greed is an intrinsic human quality. Most people who are rich like Bush because the later offers them tax cuts and the opportunity to become even richer. I call that corporate welfare and not "supply side" or "trickle down" economics. I don't see much of a difference in Spirit between that attitude and those who are poor demanding social programs or handouts to better themselves.

Although I follow global stock markets and trade for the short term (when I have some free time) and invest (or trade intermediate term), I have never had any respect for Corporate America. I was calling Corporate America "evil" in the 60's and never worked for a Corporation in my life. I made my own money as a self-employed Entrepreneur. Okay, I made some nice profits on my workers; but that is capitalism and I treated my workers really humane and well. I took the risk so I deserved the $$$.

President Clinton had a nice personality. But he really did nothing for the country except to provide the confidence to make the stock market soar till the players started discounting the end of his Presidency. In that respect, I liked him. Moreover, I thought President Clinton had good taste in women.

I think Bush is toast in the coming election. But that's the subject of another post.

Wishing you the best of Health.

PS Gold Mining stocks are shaping up as an excellent trade come September.
