Bush is the biggest flip-flopper ever as a president said Wes Clark today on CNN. This whole move to hand over Iraq and pull out of fighting the insurgents goes against everything Bush was telling people just a few months ago. Remember how he said he was going to "stay the course" with his "steady leadership"?

Bush basically just cut and ran. Now he's telling us it's the Iraqis problem. Why? Probably Karl Rove told him he was sinking in the polls on Iraq so dump it. I always laugh when rightwingers insist Bush doesn't watch the polls. No, Karl Rove watches them for him then tells him what to say and do.

Bush also just flip-flopped on North Korea. What's next?

Ted, thanks for posting the interview and providing context. Where did you find it?

As much as I like to poke fun at Kerry's flip-flops, the bottom line is that he is a man very concerned about minutiae. You might prefer that over the approach of Bush, who tends to push for results and worry about the details later.

Of course, I have two problems with Kerry's approach:

- It gives him the ability to straddle the fence and mold his rhetoric toward whatever suits the changing political winds.

- It tends to shoot for trying to please everyone all of the time. There is no overall vision guiding Kerry's stance on the issues, unless you prefer looking at trees over the whole forest.

That, plus my impression that Kerry is very averse to political risk, makes me think this guy really is another Gray Davis.

Ted,

Good post... I would like to think that would put the BS to rest, but you can bet the same crap wll be posted tomorrow, or the next day.

"Kerry is a flipper", a mantra repeated over and over and over, until people believe it. Regardless of the facts.
