is it me, or is the whole "hater" thing becoming a bit ridiculous. seems like the entirety of the campaign process revolves around who hates whom.

bush is a peace hater
kerry is a bush hater
everyone is an america hater... (depending on which america you choose to see as the "real" america)

blah blah blah blah...

the rhetorical bullshit is becoming too deep to shovel. i wonder if all this hate is the result of misdirected anger over 9/11. the elusive loosely bound terrorist networks have robbed the US people of a proper target at which to vent. it was much easier when the enemy was a singular evil bohemoth such as the Soviet Union.

i would caution against lumping all arabs/muslims together to create a virtual evil middle eastern evil empire at which to fume. doing so, imo, only increases the chances of such an entity arising (around an overthrown SA, or worse, a nuclear Iran).

also seems like the campaign hater bs is being exacerbated by the republicans effort to portray kerry as the proverbial "angry man" (which, if it works, will likely kill his chances).

"I wouldn't call him an American hater, that's hyperbole"

You seem to look up to him. I will try to find the quotes from him that state plainly what he thinks of Americans. If he doesn't hate them, he sure is a condescending SOB towards them.

"we need guys like him."

I agree that the left does need him. It's like a drug for you to see someone so eloquently disregard the truth in pursuit of harming (or attempting to) what he hates. Problem for the left is I think it backfires. When he lies and calls our President a deserter, you all cheer. But clear thinking Americans don't support dishonest personal attacks. This is one of the things that sunk Wes Clark. Associated with Moore, and would not condemn his outlandish lie in Clarks presence.

"Doesn't that also invite criticism?"

Criticism is always legitimate in America. But our views of criticism are quite a bit different it appears. If you need to be dishonest to make your point, you are not criticizing, only attacking.

"the president is palsy walsy with Saudia Arabia"

Wow. Your insight is unbelievable. Where do you get that analytical ability? Got news for you. America is "palsy walsy" with SA, and has been for about 50 years. Eliminating a law breaking dictator that could very well supply bad stufff to others that hate us and establishing a democracy in the region would go a lot further than going to war with SA imo. I think it is a good plan, and it disappoints me to see our President attacked mercileslly and dishonestly from haters like Moore. And Kennedy, McAullif, Gore and other "leaders" of the demo party.
