No F_off or F_you at mine either. More second hand testimony? Why the fear? Are they that much enamored with the prospect of dictatorship?

My 21 year old daughter and I saw the film yesterday. The theater was about half full, mostly with retirees (it was a matinee). People were silent during the film but for the sniffing and nose-blowing of those (including myself) who cried at the Lila Lipscomb interviews. Most folks clapped at the end of the film.

I took care to watch the faces of the people as they left the theater. Many were shaking their heads sadly. One pair of elderly women were talking furiously, but I couldn't tell if they were for or against the film.

As for my reaction, I'd read a number of reviews, both pro and con, so nothing was a surprise to me. I don't agree, by any stretch, with all that Moore was theorizing. Nor do I agree with some of his more outrageous tactics (like playing a few bars of the song "Cocaine" when the voiceover spoke of Bush's drug and alcohol excesses.)

I was, however, deeply moved when the film turned its focus toward Flint Michigan, the Marine recruiters' targeting of poor black men, and the story of Lila Lipscomb's family.

It's a flawed film. It's a moving film (in a number of ways.) I hope people on both sides of the aisle see it, rent it, discuss it.

PS: I'm pretty damned angry at Moore's statements about Americans during his recent European tour. He should STFU when he's ahead.
