You can't deny Bush pushed this bogus "drug benefit" that mostly benefits the drug companies. He allowed them to insert in it language that prevents American government from negotiating drug prices, as the Canadians now do, which is WHY their prices are lower. His FDA has been trying to scare the American public about drugs re-imported from Canada, and has made quickly withdrawn threats to "crack down" on people importing drugs from Canada. Kerry properly thinks the whole re-importation thing is ridiculous. Why should Americans have to import American drugs from Canada to get a lower price? He has a health care plan that would address this.
