This is another great example of a lefty "argument" that throws out a false premise, and then uses that to bolster his/her position. I happen to have a friend that went for town board of directors (or whatever they are called), to mayor to county supervisor. His next step if he suceeds would be state assymbly (state version of congress). He is younger than me, and has less money. And I don't have ANY WHERE NEAR a million dollars laying around. WHY, WHY do you guys do this? I thought we were talking on the national level. Yes, it doesn't take as much money to run at the local level. But it still takes upwards of a million to run on the national level. And its pretty obvious why the wealthy from the right don't complain about this issue. Are you being dishonest, or do you think you can do nothing in America unless you have a million, and also that people with a million have had it given to them? Try to get past this perception, and you will see America differently. It is not a land of special people getting things for free. It is a free democracy with laws to protect all people (except ones that aren't born yet) to be treated equally WHERE ANYBODY CAN MAKE IT. Very insulting to those that have made it that they are some lucky bastard instead of admiring them for their achievements. Yes, and milk and honey flow in the streets. Wake up and smell the coffee.........your America is a fantasy shared by few. "How many friends do you have that can mortgage a 6 million dollar house to fund his presidential campaign?" Seems like Edwards and Clinton are good examples of getting to the top with humble beginnings. Yes, two of the rare few.....how many more are there in Congress? Check out their bios..........how many were born on the wrong side of the tracks? People like you see one or two and you think everyone can do it. So was Ronald Reagan. Can't understand your mindset AT ALL. Comments like the ones above that I am addressing are what makes you look like a whiner to me. I don't have a million, I can't do anything. Jeez, if I had a million, I'd buy something cool, not run for President. So then you think its okay that it costs a million dollars to run for the House of Rep.? "the Bushies are getting people to believe all kinds of things about Kerry that are not true" Please provide an example. I will comment on it. I have a couple of good examples of the demos doing this to Bush. The leader of the dems, Terry McAullif said Bush was AWOL. Micheal Moore (claims not to be a demo) said he was a deserter (punishable by death btw). Ted Kennedy said he concoted the war at his ranch, and Al Gore says he betrayed the nation. Those are just off the top of my head. Give me an example with Bush. If your example is true, I will agree with you on it. If not, I will show why I think it is not. Can you do that? No, I won't do your homework for you. You are one of the laziest persons I have met on these threads. You go on and on about your fantasy world and then when someone suggests something different, you don't check it out but rather you demand that they do that work for you. The guy was in violation of a zillion UN resolutions, and the the congress and senate of the United States authorised to use force to enforce them. That Saddam chose to not cooperate is his problem, and the people of Iraq will be better for it. Tell me where Bush lied, which MANY MANY MANY dems claim. A little short on support, since the last President and Vice President have said the same things. Actually created an official policy of regime change, and that was before 9-11-01. Paranoid? No. Distrustful of a president and VP who mislead us and got us into a $300 billion war? Yes. "That plan was put together by wealthy and powerful people." I don't hate powerful and wealthy people, so this does not bother me. International relations put together by weak and poor people are generally ineffective. He put his but out on the line, and made it big. This is a great country man. To use Moore as an example of someone who did not earn his millions is surprising. I have never taken a gamble any where near the size that he took. And even though I hate him, I will high five him (or would have anyway) for his initial success. But he is evil, and is now using his zillions to hurt out nation. Don't like him AT ALL. So I take it you have checked out MM's facts in the film and proven them wrong. Is that true?
