Naturally, not to be outdone in the black and white department, the anti-PC crowd developed its own excesses and its own unreasonableness, but I don't know what you mean by "championing the use of serious racial slurs as counter to PC. Perhaps you could flesh that out for me.

I was thinking of instances on my own campus in which racial and sexual slurs pasted on dorm room doors occurred. We had, at least once a year, some sort of beating of an openly gay male.

The campus PC crowd found themselves in the awkward situation of defending these actions as permissible.

If a campus wishes to foster an atmosphere of civility they are indefensible.

These aren't instances of free speech in my book; they are instances of racial and/or sexual harassment.

Does that help?

Hi Karen,

I would say, that 'Likudnik', of itself, is a slur, not general anti-Semitism, because accusing any US official of putting Israel's interests first (or any other country's) in front of the US is a serious accusation of official misconduct.

If, however, you can substantiate a pattern of picking out just the Jewish officials and accusing only them of being 'Likudniks' (when many non-Jews promote the same policy, but don't get accused), then the old anti-Semitic tropes of judging the Jews by different, special standards and accusing the Jews of dual loyalty raise their heads.

See the distinction?
